There are over 2 million animals in the wild with a lot of them smart, lazy and some pretty dumb. Below is a list of some of the dumbest animals in the world. Not to say that these animals do not have brains or are not smarts like other animals but just that their behaviour and acts indicate that that they might not be that bright.

Jerboa
The first animal on our list of the dumbest animals in the world is the jerboa. This jumping rodent is found in Asia and North Africa, and it has very poor energy efficiency. These rodents make a fascinating view because of the way they move with so much speed. They are bipedal, meaning that they are able to either hop like a kangaroo or sprint like a roadrunner with their tiny legs. However, jerboas are difficult to breed in captivity. The rodent’s weird jumping behaviour keeps predators at bay. Also, these animals are not good at hiding or scouring for food.
Cane Toads
The second animal on our list of the most dumbest animals in the world are cane toads. These animals are found in Australia and are considered dumb because you will often see them humping on anything and everything including dead animals, snakes, lizards, mice, salamanders, and other creatures. Some of the male toads hump on dead female toads. However, a female toad can lay up to 30,000 eggs in one go.
Goblin Shark
Also on our list of the most dumbest animals in the world are goblin sharks. A goblin shark has a retractable spike-pit and it is so lazy and sluggish that it doesn’t even go look for food. It just sits waiting for prey to come as close to it as possible. This goblin shark is often found off the coast of Japan.
Koala
Also on our list of the most dumbest animals in the world are koalas. Koalas have the smallest brain-to-body ratio amongst other animals. Found in Australis koalas have four stomachs to digest eucalyptus leaves with little nutrients. According to an estimate, about 90% of koalas have chlamydia because they have no sense of hygiene. Sometimes they cannot recognize their own food, and eventually starve to death.
Lilac-Breasted Roller
The lilac breasted roller is another animal that is pretty dumb. It is the national bird of Kenya. It is considered amongst the dumbest animals because of its inclination towards tall perches even in places where nesting sites are almost non-existent. This bird does not even attempt to flee or escape even when someone comes uncomfortably close to it, and that makes it an easy target for poachers.
Kakapo
Also on our list of the most dumbest animals in the world is the kakapo also known as the parrot owl. This bird is a native of New Zealand. When the kakapo sees a predator, it gets so scared that it freezes instantly instead of trying to escape. This bird also likes to feed on berries that grow once every four years. In addition, this bird is not very good at reproducing. The males try to attract females by clearing up a mating area and making a booming call but their call produces an echo all over the place, making it very difficult for the female kakapo to find the mating area. Unfortunately, there are only about 150 of them left all over the world.
Flamingos
Flamingos are also pretty dumb animals as much as they are cute and beautiful. They have two long and healthy legs but they prefer to make use of only one most of the time. They even sleep only on one leg only. These birds try to catch fish while keeping their beaks upside down in the water, which is hardly effective.
Pandas
Also on our list of some of the most dumbest animals in the world are pandas. As much as they are incredibly cute they can be pretty dumb. These animals are carnivores, but they live on a plant diet. Pandas are also counted amongst the most unromantic animals in the world and are also regarded as an endangered species with no real interest in mating. These animals are not very good at taking care of their infants as well. In some cases the female pandas get so irritated with their young ones that they kill their own babies.
Turkeys
Turkeys are also regarded as some of the dumbest animals in the world especially the domesticated ones. Turkeys only like to drink water only when it’s falling from up top, and they sometimes die in the rain. They are so dumb that they keep staring at the sky endlessly even when it’s raining. Turkeys also suffer from a hereditary condition called Tetanic Torticollar Spasms, which means that they will occasionally stare at the sky non-stop. The male turkeys have a high sex drive that they sometimes indulge into sex with the decapitated head of a female turkey.
Sloths
Another animal considered to be some of the dumbest are sloths. They are some of the slowest animals in the world apart from being the dumbest. They can spend most of their time sleeping on tree branches, but they never poop on the trees. They only come down once a week to do their business on the ground, and then climb back up. Sometimes while climbing, they can even confuse their own libs for tree branches and fall down and die.
We hear a lot about how smart animals can be such as the dolphin which is believed to be smarter than people, and the gorilla that is able to communicate with humans using sign language. However, there are a lot of other animals that are just as dumb. For every genius in the batch, you will find another that appears to be just plain dumb. But that is not always the case, like humans, having a brain does not always mean that you have mental dexterity.
